Now I can kind of get that Ryuk would be a bit more involved in the game, considering there actually is incentive, the Shinigami Kings throne, which I'm sure we all agree Ryuk on that throne would be interesting (go figure).

In this, he has no issue being Shien's agent (Checking in on Misa, taking off peoples helmets so Shien can see their faces), and even obeys Mishima a little bit (Tricking Shien). In Death Note: The Last Name, Ryuk kills Light, because he asked him for help, and Ryuk knew that meant Light was pretty much done. Even when Light gives up ownership, he doesn't really give Ryuk orders, because he knows he wouldn't follow them.

First off, I'd like to ask if anyone knows if those people are making more? Because all of their films have been successful, and there are multiple other films they could make, including the BB Murder Cases, a Near vs Mello spin off, and now they could still have the new Ryuzaki detective vs whoever gets a hold of the two remaining death notes (Ahem, Near and Mello.) Regardless, that's all COULD have, here's a few questions I have.įor one, did it bother anyone else that Ryuk was a bit more involved and HELPFUL in this movie than usual? Normally Ryuk plays the bare participant, he occasionally clarifies death note rules and is there for the shinigami eye deal. Generally I thought it was a good movie, subjectively it was okay, I wouldn't show it to anyone who wasn't already familiar with Death Note, but as a sequel it was great. Alright, so I have just finished watching Death Note: Light up the NEW World.
